Durable
powder coating.
Hard-wearing, corrosion-resistant finishes for gates, frames, components, enclosures and structural steel, including large-format items up to 5 m long. Prepped, coated and oven-cured in our own facility, in your choice of colour and finish.
to last.
Why powder coat
Tougher
than paint.
Powder is applied electrostatically and then cured in an oven, where it flows into a hard, continuous coat. The result resists chipping, scratching, fading and corrosion far better than a conventional wet paint finish.
Because we sandblast and coat under one roof, surfaces are properly prepared before the powder goes on, and preparation is the biggest factor in how long a coating lasts.
- Chip & scratch resistant
- Corrosion protection
- Even, consistent colour
- Items up to 5 m long
Large-format coating
Up to 5 m
in one piece.
Our 5 metre curing oven lets us coat long and oversized items in a single piece, so there's no need to cut sections down or join them after coating.
Large items get the same care as small parts: sandblasted where needed, evenly coated and fully cured for a consistent colour and finish along the whole length.
- Items up to 5 m long
- Full-length gates & panels
- Beams, columns & frames
- Long balustrades & handrails
long.

FAQ
Powder coating
questions.
Can't find your answer? Call us on +27 76 622 0599 or email sales@milcon.co.za.
What is powder coating?
A dry powder is sprayed onto the metal with an electrostatic charge and then cured in an oven. It melts and bonds into a hard, even coat that is more durable than conventional paint.
Can you coat items that are painted or rusted?
Yes. Old paint, coatings and rust are removed by sandblasting first, so the new coat bonds to clean steel. Let us know the condition of your items when you request a quote.
Which colours can I choose?
Our popular colours are shown on this page, in matt, satin, gloss and textured finishes. For other colours, send us the RAL code or a sample and we'll confirm availability.
How big an item can you coat?
Our curing oven is 5 metres long, so we can coat large-format items like full-length gates, palisade panels, beams and frames in one piece. Send us the length, width and height of your largest item and we'll confirm it fits.
How long does powder coating take?
Lead time depends on preparation, quantity and colour. We confirm the lead time on your quotation.
Can I drop off items for a quote?
Yes. Drop-offs and consultations are welcome Monday to Saturday until 2pm.
